No more plastic bags

Dear Editor:

In the March 1 issue of The Aspen Times was an article about banning plastic bags in Aspen. Why not the whole valley? There is a simple solution. Contact SENTRY super markets in Wisconsin, which provides paper bags with handles at their stores that are biodegradable!

It has been estimated that 50 million plastic bags wind up in land fills every day in the U.S.A., so why not do something about it? All the markets in our valley could get together and work on the problem. They will pass the cost on to the consumers anyway, just like they raised food prices for transporting groceries when fuel prices went up; think about it!
