No involvement in dispute

Dear Editor:

It has recently come to my attention that an article appeared in The Aspen Times on Friday, Feb. 29, pertaining to Ranch Good Days, Ms. Donna Otabachian and legal actions recently undertaken involving land in the Missouri Heights area of the Roaring Fork Valley (“Land battle brewing on mesa”).

We have met with Ms. Otabachian, and we support her objectives and wish her success. However, we have not agreed to any financial arrangements with her or her organization.

Reference is made in the article to “a unique partnership of the three Ute Nations” to participate in financing. Another specific reference is made to the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in the article.

The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the Southern Ute Indian tribe is not involved in any way with Ms. Otabachian, Ranch Good Days, or any partnership or financing plan.

Clement J. Frost

Chairman, Southern Ute Indian tribe
