CARBONDALE ” The Highway 133 bridge at the entrance to Carbondale won’t be closed on Friday night after all.

Crews were able to complete paving work and the marking of asphalt during Thursday night’s closure. Traffic began flowing over all four lanes of the newly widened bridge on Friday morning, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Also open is the new, double-left turn lane from downvalley Highway 82 onto Highway 133.

The bridge project will wrap up later this month. Reclamation of areas disurbed by the project and of wetlands along the Roaring Fork River below the bridge is still to be done.
