No good reason for Condi award

Dear Editor:

Condoleezza Rice is coming to town! She is to perform with students from the Aspen Music School, be given a platform and be the recipient of the Aspen Institute Leadership Award.

Ms. Rice, who supported Mr. Bush’s plan to invade Iraq, a sovereign nation, by using untruths herself and by repeating to the American people fear-mongering statements such as the famous “mushroom-cloud” threat,” is also complicit.

This is hardly a good reason to give a person an award.

The Aspen Institute, a world-renowned body, by pursuing this course will tarnish its reputation in the eyes of many.
