No dogs on buses

Dear Editor:

Who actually in their right mind thinks that dogs should be allowed on buses? The dog person.

How about people who are allergic to dogs? Not all people think that your “friendly” little pooch is as cute and well-mannered as you think. This is supposed to be public transportation, not the animal control truck. All you have to do is walk or bike on any public trail and you will see these “responsible” owners with their dogs off leashes and leaving their little “deposits” as offerings for non-dog owners.

RFTA and the City Council believe these folks are going to keep their dogs under control on a public bus with strangers. I can’t wait to see the first dog-bites-RFTA-patron lawsuit or “Dog fight on RFTA bus causes traffic accident” headline.
