No country is above criticism
Dear Editor:I wanted to commend Sue Gray for having the guts to state her opinion. She must have been aware that she was going to be accused of being anti-Semitic and bigoted, because that’s what happens when you say something that the Jewish community doesn’t like. I am sure I will be accused of the same thing for writing this letter. For the record I do not have a problem with people just because they are Jewish. What I have a problem with are people who think they are so special that they are above criticism. Why do I get the feeling that they think they are the only group of people who have ever been victimized? Nazi Germany rounded up and killed millions of Gypsies, dissidents, mentally retarded and gay people, but you rarely hear about that. Stalin killed as many of his own people during the same period. The Japanese killed something like 12 million Chinese and they are still dying from bubonic plague 60 years later. The list goes on and on, from Cambodia, to the Sudan, to our own country, i.e. the Native American Indians. Every country on this planet has a skeleton in their closet and no one group of people are more special than the rest of us. This includes Israel, for they are an arrogant, bellicose nation and they have enough blood on their hands to fill the Dead Sea. If you think the U.S.A. should stand by them and back up everything they do, then maybe you should go online and google “U.S.S. Liberty.” With friends like that, who needs enemies?Sean AndersonCarbondale
