Nice trick

Dear Editor:In regards to Scott Condon’s lovely piece, “World Cup is back but does anyone care?” (Aspen Times, Nov. 25), way to go Scott, you should be proud of yourself. Nice, responsible journalism there. I personally witnessed one U.S. World Cup racer reading this piece of garbage on Thanksgiving morning on her way to course inspection. I wonder how she felt reading that no one in this host town cares that she’s here and that all of the hack, punk, un-cool X-Gamers were really the toast of the town. Perfect timing for such a harmonious piece to appear front and center in The Aspen Times. Maybe that story could have came out three weeks ago. What were you guys thinking? What did ESPN pay for that? Or was it just a modern day journalistic attention grabber, just like the 540-whatever Scott mentions in his article. Nice trick, Scott, real nice trick.Mike TreckerTwining FlatsP.S. To the U.S. World Cup team, Don’t pay any attention to them, mess ’em up out there, plenty of us care. Go U.S.A.
