ASPEN – The Aspen Times is asking readers and advertisers in March to help the publication better understand the region’s post-recession market and the changing expectations of the communities they serve. Any one in the area with an interest in the paper is being asked to take the survey, and one survey taker will walk away with a free iPad.

Historically, the Times has regularly surveyed readers and advertisers and have used the data to launch niche products, provide unique services and create a long-term vision for the business. The survey, which will take 15-20 minutes to complete, will continue through March.
The survey is free to take and is managed by a third party to ensure the results can be trusted.
“We are trying to reach everyone who reads our papers, whether every day or just once a week,” said publisher Jenna Weatherred. “We have made some dramatic changes to both The Aspen Times over the past couple of years, and we want to make sure that those changes are working for our readers.”
Those changes included combining advertising and some news content with the Glenwood Springs Post Independent to provide better reach for advertisers. The survey asks readers and advertisers to rate their satisfaction level with the changes, and asks for feedback on other opportunities the paper is pursuing.
As in previous surveys, the questions also ask readers to rate their interests and provide feedback on what type of content we should be publishing, such as high school sports, shopping, crime, politics and environmental issues.
