ASPEN – Local celebrity chef Susie Jimenez will headline a fundraiser for Aspen nonprofit Shining Stars Foundation on Feb. 4 at the Dancing Bear Lodge on Monarch Street.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Jimenez is donating gourmet hors d’oeuvres and fondue to the occasion. The band Already Gone will perform, and a silent auction will be held as well.
Shining Stars Foundation is a local charity that provides hope to children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Tickets, available for $75, are available online at http://www.shiningstarsfoundation.org.
Event sponsors include Premiere Party Rentals, Catherine Store and Spice It Up, which is Jimenez’s catering company.
ASPEN – The concert by Roaring Fork Valley musician Bobby Mason, scheduled for Saturday at the Wheeler Opera House, has been canceled because of illness.
Mason’s appearance had been scheduled as a CD release party for his recent album, “Find My Way Back Home.”
ASPEN – Friends of Sandra Preusse Johnston are invited to a celebration of Sandy’s life, to take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Aspen Elks Lodge, 520 E. Hyman Ave.
