ASPEN – A benefit will be held Tuesday to raise funds for a ski camp for burned children in the Aspen-Snowmass area.The event will be held from 3-8 p.m. at Bonnie Young, 675 E. Cooper Ave.Clothing from the Bonnie Young couture line, as well as artwork and jewelry, will be available for purchase. Artists and sponsors include Bonnie Young, Olivia Daane Reische, Tony Prikryl, Blake Hansen, Amy Butowicz, Matt Neuman, Brooks Werner, Mariana Vieira, Janet Nelson, Shannon Neumann, Jennifer Ghormley, Andrea Farber, Megan Denev Wussow and Charles Andrade. Luxe Interiors and Design Magazine are also sponsors. A portion of the proceeds from Tuesday’s benefit will go toward the Zach Burn Foundation. Appetizers and holiday cocktails will be served. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Conundrum Catering.
ASPEN – Registration for the eighth annual Soupskl is under way.Soupskl, part of the Winterskl celebration, will be held between Hunter Street and Cooper Avenue in downtown Aspen from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, in honor of the late Reggie Barbour. Local restaurants that register offer free samples to visitors, who vote at the end of the evening for their favorite soup. The local restaurant with the most votes will receive the Soup Bowl Trophy.Last year’s winner of the Soup Bowl Trophy, Garnish Caf, returns to Soupskl, as well as 39 Degrees (Sky Hotel), 520 Grill, Aspen Valley Hospital, Bad Billy’s, Base Camp, Brunelleschi’s, Clark’s Market, Conundrum Catering, Elk’s Lodge #224, Flame Catering & Aspen Brewing Co., Kenichi, Red Onion, Sage at Snowmass Club, Sam’s Smokehouse, The Gant, Ullrhof, Ute City, Victoria’s Espresso & Wine Bar, and Willow Creek Bistro (Ritz). ASPEN – Aspen-based radio station KUUR is spinning holiday music this month for the sixth straight December.Among the Christmas classics will be Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and Jose Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad,” as well as newer songs from such artists as Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mariah Carey, Josh Groban and Carrie Underwood.KUUR can be found on 101.1 in Aspen, 96.7 from Basalt to Glenwood Springs, and in Glenwood Springs and Eagle at 107.7 and 102.3.
