ASPEN – The Winterskl Committee is accepting slogan submissions for the annual toast to winter, scheduled Jan. 13-16, 2011. Entrants are asked to consider the things they love about Aspen and its traditional winter event when interpreting the slogan for the “Diamond Anniversary” of Winterskl. The slogan should be a one- to five-word phrase and short enough to fit on a 3-inch, round button. The contest is limited to five entries per person. The winning slogan will appear on the official Winterskl button, in print and broadcast promotional materials, as well as hold a place in Aspen’s history. The winner will receive one pass to the 2011 Food & Wine Magazine Classic in Aspen.All entries must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8. Entries can be submitted to ACRA at 425 Rio Grande Place, faxed to 920-1173, or e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The winner will be announced Friday, Oct. 15. ASPEN – The 56th annual Ski Swap will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Aspen High School. New or used equipment, clothing and accessories can be dropped off from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at the high school gym. All proceeds benefit the Aspen School District, with an emphasis for equipment for the Outdoor Education Program.Tickets to the Ski Swap can be picked up at the Aspen public schools, Aspen Community School and the Alpine Banks in Aspen, the ABC, Snowmass, Basalt or Willits.Those with questions or are interested in volunteering can contact Helene Gude at email@example.com.
