ASPEN – The city of Aspen will begin street improvement projects after the Labor Day holiday and Aspen’s high tourist season.
Work will include rotomilling (the big machine that “grinds up” the street), paving and striping. The work will be done around town and will be finished by October.
A tentative schedule for work has been created; however, the schedule is subject to change. The schedule will be available at the streets department web page at http://www.aspenpitkin.com.

ASPEN – Registration for all Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club programs is under way for the upcoming season. AVSC offers programs in alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, nordic skiing and snowboarding, emphasizing commitment, teamwork, discipline and citizenship.
Early deadline for all Team AVSC competitive programs is Friday, Sept. 4. Those interested in all Devo programs have until Oct. 16 to get the best prices. For more information or to register online visit teamavsc.org, stop by the club behind the Aspen High School, or call AVSC at 205-5101.
ASPEN – A free lecture, titled “The Link Between Cell Phones, Electropollution and Aging,” will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain House Lodge, 905 E. Hopkins Ave., Aspen.
The lecture will be given by Marlene Cohen.
Wine and cheese will be served, and a drawing will be held for a free cell-phone chip.
