Lodge at Aspen Mountain returns to City CouncilASPEN A proposal for a new lodge at the base of Aspen Mountain returns to City Council Monday. Its the second public hearing for the Lodge at Aspen Mountain, a 118-unit development offering hotel rooms, fractional units, free-market condominiums and affordable housing, as well as commercial space and more than 250 underground parking spaces.Developers plan to address issues raised at the last meeting related to energy efficiency, room mix, construction mitigation and affordable housing.The council meeting begins at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

Jet sustains $15 million in damage during Rifle landingRIFLE (AP) A plane that ruptured its gas tank after it lost control and skidded off the runway at Garfield County Airport sustained $15 million in damage, authorities said.The Falcon 900 was carrying three people when it landed Friday night.The pilot, co-pilot and flight attendant on board were not injured, Garfield County sheriffs officials said.The National Safety Transportation Board was investigating what led to the rough landing.
