ASPEN Sen. Gail Schwartz (D-Snowmass Village) will meet with her Roaring Fork Valley constituents twice this weekend. She will be in Aspen this afternoon at 4 p.m. at Zélé Café, on the corner of Galena Street and Hopkins Avenue. On Sunday, she will be at the Saxy’s Cafe coffee shop in Basalt, located across from Town Hall on the Midland Avenue spur, beginning at noon.Rape case nears conclusionGLENWOOD SPRINGS The fate of a man accused of rape in 1995 hung in the balance Friday night as jurors were sent to decipher what was fact and what was spin.After about three days of testimony in the 9th Judicial District Court, lawyers made their closing arguments about the evidence surrounding Javier Rojas Delgadillo’s case from 12 years ago. He had fled to Mexico after being charged with first-degree sexual assault, second degree burglary of a building and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.Delgadillo was arrested in June 1995, posted $5,000 bond and fled to Mexico. He had at one point used a fake social security number to work in the U.S. According to a news report, he was arrested again on April 7, 2006, in New Castle. He went to the hospital after a bad reaction or overdose from cocaine. Detectives matched his fingerprints to outstanding warrants. (Glenwood Springs Post Independent)
