Charges dropped in sex assault caseCriminal charges against a Parachute man accused of sexual assault have been dropped. A 9th Judicial District Court Judge ruled that Allen Eugene Nelson, 31, could not be charged because the victim is developmentally disabled and unable to testify against him.Nelson was scheduled for a jury trial this week on charges of sexual assault on an at-risk adult.Police arrested Nelson on March 23 after an investigation into allegations that he repeatedly sexually assaulted a 24-year-old mentally impaired woman in her mother’s Battlement Mesa home.According to an arrest affidavit, he allegedly touched the woman inappropriately and took nude pictures of her. (Glenwood Springs Post Independent)Vail Mountain Club memberships for saleVail Resorts is selling memberships for the Vail Mountain Club, which will be at the base of the Vista Bahn chairlift.The club, part of the Vail Front Door project, is supposed to be completed next ski season.The membership deposit is $250,000, or $100,000 without parking. Annual dues are about $5,500 for full memberships or about $3,200 without parking, said Pat Donovan, Vail Resorts’ director of clubs.More than 100 people have already joined the club, Donovan said.The Front Door project also includes a skier services building and 13 townhomes.
