Library is on witch watchKids from 3 to 6 years old are being invited to check out the spooky stories, songs and rhymes to be told by the “library witch” on Oct. 25, at 10:15 a.m., at the Pitkin County Library.There will not be a toddler story hour that day.Parents needing more information should call the library at 429-1900. The library is at 120 N. Mill St. in Aspen, across from the Hotel Jerome.Senator to lead CLEERState Sen. Lewis H. Entz, R-Hooper, whose district includes Pitkin County, has been appointed to lead the Center for Legislative Energy and Environmental Research, the research arm of the Energy Council. The Energy Council is a nonpartisan organization consisting of legislators from the top energy-producing states. It promotes legislation that addresses the needs of both energy providers and energy consumers.I-70 ramps closed for paving Friday, SaturdayThe Colorado Department of Transportation will be resurfacing several Interstate 70 ramps in the Glenwood Springs area on Friday and Saturday, as the I-70 Glenwood Springs West paving project nears completion.The ramp work will occur during non-peak traffic periods; however, motorists should plan at least 10 extra minutes to use detour routes.On Friday, the I-70 westbound on- and off-ramps at Exit 114 (West Glenwood Springs) will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon. Motorists can access West Glenwood Springs and westbound I-70 via Highway 6 and Exit 116. The I-70 eastbound on-ramp at Exit 114 will be closed from noon until 6 p.m. Motorists can access eastbound I-70 at Exit 116 in Glenwood Springs. The I-70 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 114 will be closed from 2-6 p.m. Motorists will be able to access West Glenwood Springs via Exit 116 and Highway 6.On Saturday, the I-70 westbound on-ramp at Exit 116 (Glenwood Springs) will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon. Motorists will be able to access westbound I-70 at West Glenwood Springs via Highway 6. The I-70 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 116 (Glenwood Springs) will be closed from noon until 6 p.m. Motorists will be able to access Glenwood Springs from I-70 at Exit 114 (West Glenwood Springs).Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct motorists, and advance-warning and portable variable-message signs also will be used to aid motorists.
