A splash of color and creativity has just arrived at The Aspen Emporium, and it’s turning heads, according to a news release.
The beloved local art collective is proud to unveil a brand-new 8-by-8-foot original mural by renowned artist MFK, known for bold expression, layered symbolism, and magnetic color palettes.
This breathtaking piece isn’t just a feast for the eyes — it’s weatherproof, making it perfect for indoor or outdoor display. Whether you’re a collector, business owner, or local art enthusiast, this one-of-a-kind mural offers a chance to own a monumental slice of Aspen’s creative soul.
What inspired the artist?
“Inspired by the spirit of Aspen, I set out to capture the natural elements that define this historic town — vibrant sunsets, wild columbine, alpine rivers, golden aspen trees, and of course, the Maroon Bells — layering them in saturated detail to convey a sense of energetic abundance,” MFK said in a news release. “The banded palette guides the eye upward through each season, while the watchful eyes of the aspen trees and the moose, the quiet giant, seem to gaze back at the viewer, reminding us that in stillness, nature’s outer beauty is reflected inward.
“This mural is more than art — it’s energy,” she added. “It reflects the spirit of Aspen: wild, alive, and beautifully unfiltered, while also depicting all four beautiful seasons of Aspen.”
The piece is named Wandering Wild and is officially for sale.

Nearly 500,000 pounds of concrete dropped by helicopter for new Snowmass lift
Helicopters shouldn’t fly. That would be the takeaway if one was faced with a multi-ton Black Hawk — known by its owners as “The Lorax” — hovering overhead with 4,000 pounds of concrete in its grasp, its blades kicking up 35-mile-per hour winds and turning an otherwise pleasant summer morning into a violent, stick-ensued dust bowl.
