The town of Basalt is holding a town social Sunday to introduce Congressman John Salazar of Antonito, state Rep. Kathleen Curry of Gunnison and Gail Schwartz, a Colorado University Regent and candidate for state Senate in District 5.The lemonade social is from 4 to 5 p.m. in Lions Park at Basalt Town Hall and features live music and refreshments. Colorados Motor Vehicle Division now requires a secure and verifiable ID when processing new vehicle titles, duplicate titles, registrations and handicap placards.Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder Janice Vos Caudill said processing these documents likely will take more time. It could also mean more than one trip to the clerks office, she said.Special documents will need to be presented if someone other than the vehicles owner tries to complete the transaction.Accepted forms of identification include: a Colorado drivers license, permit or ID card; an out-of-state-issued ID card or drivers license; birth certificate; passport; a valid foreign passport; a resident alien or permanent resident ID; or a temporary resident ID or employment authorization card with a photo. A public tribute for the late Judge T. Peter Craven will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Glenwood Springs Recreation Center, 100 Wulfsohn Road.
