One of two memorial services for Dan Fegan, the longtime NBA agent who was killed Sunday on Highway 82 outside Aspen, has been set for next week on the East Coast, the family announced Friday.

A funeral and celebration of Fegan’s life will be Wednesday in Connecticut. A subsequent memorial service will be held in Los Angeles at a time to be announced later, a family spokesman said.

Fegan, 56, was killed when he tried to cross westbound Highway 82 at Smith Way on Sunday morning and his rental SUV was hit by a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority bus that was heading downvalley. The driver of the bus was not cited.

Fegan was driving the rented 2018 Kia SUV and his 5-year-old son and 29-year-old nanny also were in the car. No updates on their condition have been released by the families. Authorities said after the crash the two survivors were airlifted to a Denver hospital.

Transportation officials said this week they will meet, likely next week, to discuss any possible changes to the intersection.

Wednesday’s memorial service will be at the St. Barnabas Church in New Haven starting at 9:45 a.m.
