Music Fest a true gem
August 2, 2008
As a longtime visitor to Aspen, both winter and summer, I am always amazed at the many choices of entertainment and education available.
This visit, July 6 to July 29, was especially amazing, as I made 10 visits to the Music Festival, each an exciting experience.
I am sure that nowhere in the country, with all the concert stages that exist, can you find such talent night after night.
Take, for example, one such event, with Kalichstein, Ax, Dichter and Bronfman on the stage together! They had such fun, as did we. Try to see each one of those artists at New York, Chicago or Washington venues, and you would spend a fortune! Not to mention Salerno-Sonnenberg or Chang or Dinnerstein, and on it goes …
I am sure Aspenites appreciate the summer Music Festival and the myriad events all summer long, but it cannot be said enough what gems and blessings this valley has to offer. Those of us who love music in all its forms are truly blessed with the best venue in the world!
