Moved by the care and professionalism

Dear Editor:

As the unknowing “elderly man” (first time I ever have been called that – except for my children) who disconnected the alarm system thinking it was a bad battery, I want to commend the reporting of Scott Condon and The Aspen Times. We don’t see such accurate reporting in the big-city newspapers.

Also the speed and professionalism of the Basalt fire and police departments was extraordinary. If it had not been for our guest and the well-trained men and women in Basalt, we would have been dead.

The medivac group and the Denver Presbyterian/Luke’s Hospital were quick and efficient, and, I must say, caring.

It doesn’t stop there – the care and thoroughness of Aspen Valley Hospital makes me doubly sure that I want to retire in the valley, knowing I will be well cared for in my “elderly” years!
