Mountaineer to speak in Carbondale

Aspen Times staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

CARBONDALE – The 5Point Winter Film Series will present mountaineer Dave Hahn at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dos Gringos restaurant, on Highway 133 in Carbondale. Admission is free.

Hahn has reached the summit of Mt. Everest more than any non-Sherpa in history. When he climbed Everest last May, it was his 11th time to ascend to the highest point on the planet. A ski patroler in Taos, N.M., Hahn has also been recognized several times for his rescue work. He is not only a heroic mountaineer, but as 5Point founder Julie Kennedy notes, “He’s humble. He’s hilarious.”

The Winter Film Series is presented by the Carbondale-based 5Point Film Festival, which presents its third annual festival April 29 to May 2. For further information, go to 5pointfilm.org.
