While she may be best known as an Oscar-nominated actress, Kate Hudson’s credentials have expanded to include singer/songwriter. Last December, she performed for the first time, choosing  Bad Harriet at Hotel Jerome for her debut, followed by the release of her album “Glorious” in May.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, she returned to the hotel’s speakeasy in the historic Aspen Times building for a private, star-studded concert. The intimate setting was very much a family affair with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, son Ryder Robinson, and brother Oliver Hudson and his wife Erinn in the audience. Celebrity friends and entertainers around the room included Kevin Costner, Dakota Johnson, Diplo, Kyle Richards, and Heidi Klum. A handful of lucky locals from Hotel Jerome, Kemo Sabe, the media, The Little Nell, and elsewhere were also grateful to be a part of the momentous occasion.

The evening served as a homecoming of sorts for Hudson who has grown up between Aspen and Los Angeles and holds this place near and dear to her heart. The setlist included her original songs mixed with some of her favorite covers that ranged from Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” to The Rolling Stones’ “Beast of Burden” to Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends.”

Hudson also sang several holiday songs throughout the set including her recently released version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” which has more than 4 million plays so far on Spotify and counting. For the closing, she led the audience in a sing-along of the “12 Days of Christmas” followed by an encore performance.

She is slated to release more music and perform several live shows throughout the U.S. in 2025. Visit Katehudson.com for tour details and updates.
