Motorcyclist hospitalized following crash near Aspen

A 79-year-old motorcyclist from Grand Junction was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon following a crash involving another vehicle on Colorado Highway 82 near Aspen.
The crash involved the motorcyclist and a Ford F-150 truck at the intersection of Smith Hill Way and Highway 82 at milepost 34.5, according to Colorado State Trooper Sherri Mendez. A 29-year-old man from Parachute was driving the Ford F-150. The accident occurred at 2:15 p.m.
Mendez could not disclose the names of the involved parties.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital following the incident, she said. The extent of his injuries are currently not reported.
More detailed information won’t be released until the investigating trooper files a report at the end of their shift, according to her. No charges or citations had been filed as of 5 p.m., Wednesday.
