MotherLode volleyball back in action

Volleyball is back in the valley, and the 46th annual MotherLode tournament starts Wednesday at Aspen’s Koch Lumber Park and runs through the Labor Day Weekend with finals Monday. From amateurs to pros to seniors, the ’Lode field is full of hundreds of inspiring setters and spikers. As the players roll into town, the tournament’s pool play will expand to six locations around Aspen before coming back to Koch for Monday’s finals with the amateurs and then goes to the beach pros in the afternoon. If you’re feeling recovered from the weekend by early Monday afternoon, head over to Koch for the open finals for women and men starting at 3 p.m. For full info on the event, go to
