More than 500 free coats to be distributed this weekend
Roaring Fork Re-Coat has collected more than 500 used coats from Aspen to Carbondale to give away to those in need this weekend.
Coats were collected at Aspen elementary, middle and high schools, Aspen Country Day, Aspen Chapel, Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork, Colorado Rocky Mountain School, City Market in El Jebel and Carbondale, all three Habitat for Humanity Re-Stores and Bristlecone Mountain Sports.
In previous years, Roaring Fork Re-Coat has collected roughly 430 coats and given away about 405. The remaining coats will go to a coat drive in Parachute as well as to LIFT-UP.
Adults and children in need of a coat can visit the Third Street Center in Carbondale on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This past election season Colorado voters supported the legalization of psilocybin mushrooms, the second-only state to do so. What will this mean for the Roaring Fork Valley?
