More support for nurse

Dear Editor:

I would like to add my name to the long list of people who were surprised and upset about Barbara Stirling being fired from Aspen Valley Hospital.

My wife receives monthly infusions at the hospital, and Barbara has always been wonderful to work with. Originally, my wife had to travel to Grand Junction to get her treatments. When Barbara learned this was the case, she went out of her way to get AVH approved as a location where my wife could receive her medication. While there may have been some technically valid reason for her termination, it seems obvious that her overall record and years of service to the hospital and the community were not taken into account when making this decision.
