More snow, more kind souls

Dear Editor:

The big snows of 2008 have brought out the best in some folks. Monday I was shoveling out my mailbox and neighbor’s drive and was nearly halfway through the 20 feet of plow-deposited heavy stuff, when a city plow driver drove up, waved me out of the way, scooped up the rest and dumped it down the road in a pile. I then went to the alley side of my house, just in time to see a different city plow leave a pile behind my car. I started in to move it, but he backed up, waved me out of the way and moved that one for me!

Then today, Wednesday, I was trying to open a path through the plow line to our church and a man in a Soderberg bobcat cleared out the whole entrance for me. These men have taken a combined total of two minutes of their time yet made a difference of hours of mine.

I love the snow and generally enjoy shoveling, but this year has tested my limits and I just wanted to thank my helpers from the bottom of my heart.
