Mitigate the uglifying
Dear Editor:
It is fitting that the Aspen Art Museum plans an ugly building to display ugly art.
With Aspen’s abundance of art galleries displaying fabulous art, one can view for free far better art than I have ever viewed at the Aspen “Art” Museum in 21 years of part-time residence. While it is admirable that admission will be free, it would not be enough draw for my apparent plebeian tastes.
Perhaps some of the 20 largest buyers of art in the United States who have homes in Aspen (as previously reported) would be willing to share their art with us in such a building to mitigate the uglifying of downtown.
