Minor-party presidential candidates crowd ballot

DENVER ” Coloradans who aren’t thrilled with Republican John McCain or Democrat Barack Obama will have plenty of other choices for president, ranging from the pretty well known to the pretty obscure.

Voters may recognize Bob Barr of the Libertarians, Cynthia McKinney of the Greens and the unaffiliated Ralph Nader on November’s ballot.

They may not recognize Thomas Stevens of the Objectivist Party, Jonathan Allen of HeartQuake ’08 or Charles Jay of the Boston Tea Party.

The secretary of state’s office said Monday at least 15 presidential candidates are on the ballot.

Others include Gene Amondson, Prohibition Party; Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party; James Harris, Socialist Workers Party; Alan Keyes, America’s Independent Party; Gloria La Riva, Socialism and Liberation Party; Bradford Lyttle, U.S. Pacifist Party; and Brian Moore, Socialist, USA Party.
