Miles in his prime

Dear Editor:

With excitement, in a terrible world and time, I noticed an article about Louis Malle’s “Elevator to the Scaffold” (Ascenseur Pour L’echafaud) getting a great review in Friday’s Aspen Times.

This is a sleeper movie with an even greater film score done by Miles Davis in his prime. My mother introduced me to Miles Davis and this film score many years ago. It is still one of my favorite Miles compositions. Haunting, mysterious and very smooth, it is a stunning album. One of my top five on my iPod. Order the CD and get the film, both available through normal sources (Amazon and Netflix). Then sit back and enjoy it and summer.
