Miles a win-win choice
Dear Editor:For valley residents who got to meet U.S. Senate candidate Mike Miles in person this week, you know and understand what the passion around him is all about. He is Colorado’s own “Barack Obama,” if you will. You saw the depth of his passion, his determination and the depth of his knowledge of complexities of issues and serious challenges facing American people. You heard his articulate solutions to these challenges, and saw his commitment to lead fights that really need fighting for all Americans. Now you know how we Coloradans are fortunate to have a man of his caliber and wealth of experience and intelligence to represent us in the U.S. Senate. You experienced first-hand his hope for American people and our American dream, and his abiding belief in democratic principles, openness, authenticity and accountability. This primary election is your ideal opportunity to vote your conscience. You can choose to elect a candidate with the most compelling message and the conviction to carry it through in the U.S. Senate. When Miles wins, all state Democratic resources will back him fully to reclaim our Democratic seat in the Senate. Independents and Greens alike resonate with his core values and convictions, and will ensure a broad base of support. When he makes nationwide news, his victory in November is assured. (For those of you struggling with your conscience and what party propaganda is dictating to you, know that if you do choose to vote your conscience and give Miles a chance, and he should not win the primary, you’ll still get to vote for the party-sanctioned candidate in November. You haven’t lost a thing. It is a win-win proposition.)Mike Miles means it when he says he will stand for you. He has exceeded expectations in every job he has ever held and in every task he has ever undertaken. Just imagine what he could do as our senator. We must vote our conscience now, if we are ever to see positive changes in our nation and in our world.Annie FlynnCarbondale
