Michael L. Dakan

Michael L. Dakan, 67, passed away at his home in Lincoln, Calif. on March 30, 2010.

Michael was born March 23, 1943 in Moline, Ill. to Oliver and Margaret Long Dakan.

He attended the University of Illinois before moving to Aspen, Colo. in 1973 to work for Fritz Benedict Architects. Moving to Glenwood Springs in 1979, he worked for Sundesigns Architects before forming the architectural firm of Dakan Guy PC. In 1985, Michael moved to California where he was a writer and contributing editor for CADALYST Magazine.

Michael was also an architectural photographer for more than 30 years.

Surviving are his children: Aaron Dakan of Oakland, Calif., Jeremy Dakan of Durango, Colo. and Lindsay Dakan of Pacifica, Calif.; grandsons Anthony and Aarmand; brother David (Betty) Dakan and niece Stacy.

His parents, and brother Dennis Dakan predeceased him.

No immediate date has been set for a memorial service.
