GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ” Authorities say a man who was awaiting sentencing on burglary and auto theft convictions has escaped from the Mesa County jail in Grand Junction.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Heather Benjamin says 40-year-old Shane Edward Johnson of Clifton escaped early Tuesday morning.

She says Johnson is considered dangerous.

Benjamin says Johnson is also wanted on a warrant out of Nevada, but details of that case weren’t immediately available.

Benjamin says Johnson may be traveling with his wife, 46-year-old Marilynne Ann Johnson of Colorado Springs. Authorities want to question her but haven’t been able to find her.
