Memorial service today for Anderson

Aspen Times Staff Report

There will be a memorial service today for Martin Brent Anderson, 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aspen, starting at 4 p.m.

Anderson, 29, was found dead in his home on Snowbunny Lane on Oct. 19, of an apparent suicide, according to the Tom Walsh, deputy Pitkin County coroner.

Born in Newport Beach, Calif. on Nov. 18, 1969, Anderson moved here with his family and attended Aspen High School, but graduated from Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs in 1989, according to family members.

He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1992, and lived in Boulder for six years. He also lived for Mexico City, Mexico; Madrid, Spain; and New York City for short periods of time. He recently had returned to Aspen to live here for the winter season.

He is survived by his mother and father, Mary Diane and Don Burnett Anderson; brothers Tyler, Carlos and Manolo; sister Aliz and half-sister Whitney Burnett; and aunt and uncle Joan and Martin McGarry.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Jazz Aspen at Snowmass organization.
