Memorial service for Jacobs is today
A memorial service for Halley Canyon Rose Jacobs will be today, at 4 p.m. in the District Theatre at Aspen Elementary School.
In addition, Jacobs’ family is inviting people who wish to pay their respects to visit their home at 0722 Upper Ranch Road. Jacobs’ closed casket will be placed in an oak grove by the house; family members will be at home from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday and Thursday.
Jacobs, 13, died at home Saturday. She was hit by a car while trying to cross Highway 82 last year. Complications from her injuries apparently led to her death.
Following the December accident, Jacobs recovered from a coma, but her condition began to deteriorate earlier this month.
“She died at home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Her passage was peaceful and she is finally out of pain,” said Sunny Redmond, Jacobs’ mother.
