Memorial: Keith Ames
Aspen, CO Colorado
A celebration of the life of Keith Ames will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Aspen Community Church, 200 E. Bleeker St., Aspen.
All are welcome.
Ames was skiing Wednesday, Jan. 18, when an avalanche killed and sent him on his way to eternal peace. He was a longtime Aspen skier, original mountain man, painter, friend, hiker, mountain biker, and lover of nature, dogs and people. He grew up in Warren, N.J., born June 6, 1968, and moved to Colorado in 1988, where he found his true home for the rest of his life.
He was kindhearted and fiercely loyal to his many friends and family, and now, at only 43, he was spirited away at before he achieved so many things that he was capable of, and before he had enough fun. He joins his late mother, Gail Ames, of Stowe, Vt., in the wild blue yonder.
He leaves behind his loving father Timothy and his wife Michele Ames of Stuart, Fla.; his brother and former fellow Aspen skier, Tim Ames, his wife Keren, and nieces Tirra and Ella of Reedy Creek, Australia; his sister Sandra and her husband Heath with his two nephews, Atticus and Eames Eiden of Stowe; his sister Kristen Ames of Toronto, Ontario; his brother Justin and his wife Stephanie Ames of Southern Pines, N.C.; and of course, his dog, Sol and girlfriend Teri Harrison, his saving grace.
