A celebration of Donna Dowling Robinson’s life will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Old Pond Park in Basalt (next to Taqueria El Nopal). Food and music will follow the memorial service. Those in attendance may bring something for the memento wall.Also, an exhibit of Donna’s mixed-media art will be on display at the Wyly Community Art Center in Basalt that same weekend. Hours for the exhibit are: 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24. The Wyly Community Art Center is at 255 Gold Rivers Court, in Riverside Plaza above Traffic and the Basalt Gallery.Donna Dowling Robinson died Aug. 31 from malignant melanoma. She was 41 years old. Donna was a former Aspen Daily News reporter and editor of the now-defunct Roaring Fork Sunday newspaper, as well as a founding board member of the Roaring Fork Conservancy and La Mision. She and her husband, Curtis Robinson, were well-known during their seven years in the Roaring Fork Valley.
