Dr. Ann Harris and Allen Adger of Old Snowmass announce the engagement of their son, Jason Harris Melnick, to Adele Mathee.

Jason, a 1994 graduate of Aspen High School, graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in metalsmithing and jewelry in 2000. He is the nephew of Peggy (Piglet) Harris and Chip Foster of Snowmass Village and the grandson of Marcia and Dr. Skeets Harris of Aspen. Jason is working in Basalt.

Adele is a native of South Africa, and she is the assistant director of Growing Years Preschool in Basalt. She will be the director of Growing Years beginning with the 2007-2008 school year.

Jason and Adele will marry on July 28 in Old Snowmass, and they will reside in Basalt.

Glenwood police’s K-9 cop Zeus remembered after lengthy career

Glenwood Springs police and community mourn the loss of Zeus, who died in his sleep the night of May 5. The longtime K-9 officer loved and lived to work, with a drive second to none and he continued to serve the community up until a month before his retirement.
