Meadows announces tenant list for new mall

Glenwood Springs residents will have a whole host of new restaurant and retail options next fall. Glenwood Meadows’ developer, Miller Weingarten, on Thursday released a list of new tenants, which include the eateries Chili’s Grill, Moe’s Southwestern Grill, Magoo’s Bar and Grill, Smoothie King and Marble Slab Creamery. Miller Weingarten also signed retailers and service-oriented businesses such as Alpha Health Dental, Help-U-Sell Real Estate, Red Mountain Wine and Spirits, Verizon, Great Clips and Healthstyles Fitness.”I think you have to have some of those service-oriented businesses to draw people into the center,” said Greg Moran, vice president of leasing for Miller Weingarten. “It all plays off each other so people view it as more of a town center than just a retail operation.” Another goal of mixed uses is to attract people to the center multiple times during the day and week. Miller Weingarten hopes to attract visitors early in the day, during lunch, evenings and on weekends. As of Wednesday afternoon, 80 percent of Meadows’ tenant space was leased, he said. Moran is negotiating with an additional seven or eight tenants that would take the leased rate up to 88 percent, leaving just 16,000 square feet of the 405,000 square feet not leased. Though he wouldn’t release names, Moran said the possibilities include a skin clinic and day spa, hair salon, floral shop, Asian restaurant, women’s clothing store, bank, coffee shop, and a games and electronics store. Beyond those businesses, Miller Weingarten hopes to sign a gallery or an art store and a bath product store, Moran said.
