Marian P. Hotz of Glenwood Springs passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Grace Health Care. She was 98.

She was born on March 23, 1910, to Ed and Marian (Pearson) Jacobs in El Jebel.

She married Martin G. Hotz on Sept. 1, 1934, in Glenwood Springs. She lived in the valley her entire life.

Marian is preceded in death by her husband Martin; daughter Mara Jo Bishop; brothers George, Francis, and Keith; sister Olla; and granddaughter Marti Lynn Hotz. She is survived by her son Martin; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-step-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; eight great-great-step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, hunting and fishing, horseback riding, and digging for old bottles.
