Marcia Mary Lane recently passed away at her home in Leadville. She was 60 years old.

Lane was born in Oakland, Calif., on June 14, 1947. Her parents were the late Robert W. and Billie (Woods) Alameida. Marcia grew up in California where she became a dental hygienist and assistant. She continued to work in the dentistry profession in the San Francisco Bay area until she moved to Colorado.

Marcia then went to work in the city of Aspen offices, where she met and married Paul Derek Lane on Oct. 26, 1985. Derek, as he was known, and Marcia moved to Leadville in 1995 where Marcia worked in the cafeteria at Colorado Mountain College and also at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Leadville.

Marcia’s family remembers her love of sunshine, the beach and how she especially enjoyed the holidays. Marcia was also a great cat-lover.

Lane is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Derek Lane, who died in 2004, and stepbrother Jimmy Moyle. She is survived by her half-sisters, Michelle Alameida and Leslie Trout, stepsister Patricia Leighton, stepmother June Alameida and father-in-law Glen Lane, as well as cousins, Valerie Montgomery, Rita Lee Tompkins and Gayle Cass.

According to her wishes, Marcia was cremated. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Derek in the Masonic Cemetery in Leadville at a later date.
