Man’s body found on highway in Carbondale

CARBONDALE – The body of a young man was found lying on Highway 133 in Carbondale shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to Carbondale Police Chief Gene Schilling.

Police were called at 2:58 a.m. to the scene, which was on Highway 133 between Weant Boulevard and Eighth Street.

Schilling described the man as a Latino in his mid-20s.

The man was not identified, and the case is under investigation to determine the cause of death.

The Carbondale Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Colorado State Patrol, Garfield County Sheriff, Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Carbondale Fire Department.
