Man found dead in West Vail

VAIL, Colo. ” Vail authorities found the body of a man who had recently moved to town in an apartment Sunday.

Police had received a call from a concerned father who said he had not heard from his son in more than a week.

The father told authorities his son had just moved to Vail two weeks ago from New York and was living alone in the apartment. The father said it was unusual for his son to not call over the Thanksgiving holiday and was worried about him.

Vail police went to the apartment and discovered the 48-year-old white man dead.

The preliminary investigation from Vail police showed no sign of suspicious circumstances. The final results of the investigation are pending the autopsy and toxicology report. The name of the victim is being withheld until the family is notified.
