Man found dead in Aspen condo hot tub

ASPEN – Aspen police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old man who was found dead in a hot tub at the Prospector Condominiums late Wednesday morning.

According to police, they received a 911 call about the individual, who was reportedly unconscious and not breathing, at 11:29 a.m. Attempts to revive him with cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and automatic external defibrillation were not successful, according to a police department press release.

The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of his family.

Police Detective Chris Womack is investigating the death. A Pitkin County coroner’s report is pending, according to authorities.

The Aspen Police Department, Aspen Ambulance, Aspen Fire Department emergency medical personnel and the county sheriff’s office all responded to the scene, at 301 E. Hyman Ave. The Prospector is a timeshare condo complex.
