Man discovered dead on Hyman Avenue
The Aspen Police Department discovered the dead body of a 65-year-old male on Hyman Avenue late Tuesday night while responding to a medical call.
The body of Richard Joseph Nelson was discovered on a ramp leading to an underground parking garage at 301 E. Hyman Ave. around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to a press release. Officers are investigating the events that led to Nelson’s death, but foul play is not suspected, the statement said. The Pitkin County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
