Man arrested for cocaine possession
A man was arrested last week after police allegedly found cocaine in his pocket after a disturbance at Eric’s Bar in Aspen.
Jesus Angel Jr. is charged with possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.
According to a police report, on April 5 police responded to a report of two men starting fights at Eric’s around 10 p.m. The report says the men had left by the time police arrived, having been removed by the doormen.
But an hour later police received a call that the men had returned to the bar. When they arrived officers allegedly saw six men “grappling and yelling at each other” in a driveway near the bar.
One of the doormen told police the men had returned and started a fight with customers. In breaking up the fight, Angel allegedly grabbed the hair of one of the doormen. The other man, identified as Ricardo Chavez Balmaceda, began challenging another doorman to a fight.
Police arrested both men for disorderly conduct. According to the police report, during a search, six pieces of paper containing suspected cocaine were found in Angel’s pocket.
The bindles weighed 4.9 grams, and Angel allegedly told police that the bindles contained cocaine for personal use.
Angel’s bond is $5,250.

Bar Talk: Barraquito
On a recent trip to Spain, I discovered something that I believe tops the espresso martini. It’s called a barraquito.
