Aspen is a resort community with both permanent and seasonal jobs. Most jobs are service oriented, i.e. skiing, lodging, retail and restaurants. These jobs are most often filled by those who apply in person. Consider planning a trip to Aspen to look into the job and housing situations, and get a better outlook on the community. Seasonal hiring occurs in October and early November for ski season and in May and early June for the summer season.

Housing is both scarce and expensive. Be prepared to spend some time and money securing a place to live. Most leases require first and last monthsI rent, a security deposit and exclude pets. The optimum time to find housing is in April, May and September.

Services include an emergency room with 24-hour physician coverage, intensive care, newborn nursery, operating suites, MRI, CT, and air transport.
