Make a statement
Dear Editor:
I am writing in support of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association dropping its membership in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
At a time when so much is at stake for our economy and environment, sticking with the old-guard way of decision making continues to put us – and our future – at risk. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is exactly that old-guard way of thinking: denying climate change, blocking legislation and keeping our country tied to old, dirty and increasingly expensive fossil-fuel-based energy sources. It is time to move on.
Aspen has proven itself to be a national and international leader in issues of sustainability. This is a perfect opportunity to prove this commitment. Aspen, be the leader we know you can be.
