Make a difference as a Buddy

Dear Editor:The Buddy Program’s Recruitment Party at the Riverside Grill was a HUGE success. We were able to sign up 22 new big buddies, a record breaking number for us. We had men and women sign up for the school-based program as well as the community-based program and one person even signed up for both.As a big buddy and the board president I’d like to thank everyone for supporting our mission to serve the children of our valley. Becoming a big buddy really does make a difference in both the life of the Little Buddy and in your own life. We’d love to offer you the opportunity to become a big buddy and to learn more about the buddy program at our next recruitment party on Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Aspen program is in need of school-based and community-based big buddies, so if you’ve been thinking about signing up, please stop by The Cantina for some great food and drinks and we’ll tell you all you need to know. Feel free to bring a friend who might want to become a buddy also.Kathryn PennBuddy Program board president
